A (long) Day Trip To Muar..

Yesterday (Saturday) we left home at 6am to send Nafis to LCCT (to catch a flight back to Kota Bharu where he’s attending a boarding there). After that we headed to Muar, but first we stopped at a local coffee shop to have breakfast…

As we were leaving LCCT, we captured the rare morning sunlight:

We saw this eatery (Warong Kak Ros) in Salak town, and decided to have our breakfast there. I ordered roti canai while DH had fried beehoon.

Only the lady who took our order bothered to smile at us. The lady who brought our order came with a very sour face! I just had similar lousy service the day before. I know both DH and I are strangers at this place, but shouldn’t that be the more reason they should be courteous to us? The worse was with the cashier when I went to pay for our meals. The bill was RM5, and when I gave her RM10 note, she returned the change without looking at me, and by simply putting the changed on the counter!!! I was speechless. I was lost for words – couldn’t even voice out my dissatisfaction! I left the place (DH was already at the car) disgusted, that I decided to snap a shot of the place (above) and promised myself that I will blog about this “Warong K Ros”.They (except for the lady who took our order) made us feel that they hated serving us and we were a burden to them!!!

I hope if someone who knows the owner reads this blog, that person will relay this story to him/her!

Back to the story of the day, we arrived at my cousin’s place just after 10am. DH had a quick nap, while I did some catching up with my cousin.

At 11.10am I woke DH up, because he said he wanted to go to Parit Jawa, to take some pix of the lesser adjutants. These are migratory birds who have decided to settle down there!

When we arrived, it was low tide. The ugly lesser adjutants should be there, but unfortunately, for some reason, they were not!

DH managed to see a couple other birds. Here’s one shot (of the egrets):

At about the 2pm, DH got a call from his friends that they were close to our “destination” of the day, hence prompting DH to leave the place and joined them.

The destination was Ramlan’s home. DH and gang decided to visit Ramlan and family. Some of them had not seen Ramlan for ages.

We were pleasantly treated to a lunch of asam pedas and sambal sotong.Min (Mrs Ramlan) cooked very delicious lunch for us! We also had tea and banana fritters as our after lunch helpings.

(Dr) Zul aka Mok A joined us later. Dr Zul lives and operates a dialysis centre in Batu Pahat.

These 2 hugging guys (AR and Dr Zul) had not seen each other since 1977 (the year they sat for their MCE):

According to the original schedule, we were supposed to go to my cousin’s place for tea, before they headed back to KL.

Another friend, Khairol managed to convince us to make a bee line to his mum’s place in Sungai Rambai. Sungai Rambai is in Melaka but near the Johor border.

At Khairol’s mum’s place we had generous helpings of kuihs, and kuini!

Here’s a group pic before leaving the lace:

    Sabar,

Yeah, let’s meet up these 2 ‘girls’ — especially if they don’t turn up for the reunion.
